On October 18-20, 2017, the XIV International forum “BankIT’17” took place in Minsk. This Forum is the largest annual business event in Belarus, each time attracting over 1500 leaders and experts in financial, IT and management areas. During the Forum, participants had discussed the up-to-date world trends, best practice of the financial business transformation, business process enhancement and operational improvement of banking activities.

For many years Forbis has been supporting the present event, and this year is no exception. Forbis presented a report in the “Digital communication with customers” section.

Mr. Sergey Leshkevich, representative in CIS countries, shared the experience in implementing PSD2 directive requirements and told the audience about possibilities the open API has for digital transformation of the business.

Currently the topic of the open API is very important in Belarus because the country is constantly moving towards the creation of Digital economics, and from July 2017 it started applying IBAN. Therefore, EU experience is highly valuable for Belarusian banks. Also, Belarusian colleagues shared their experience in creating systems using the blockchain technology. This year, under the patronage of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, two projects on the aforementioned technology have been implemented. Even in the Digital technology times, the BankIT Forum keeps itself relevant and remains a platform for meetings and interchange of views of professionals in the area of finance and IT.
